Q.
Can I work in Poland?
A. Yes. A residence visa and work permit are
however required. It is the responsibility of the prospective
employer to arrange a work permit for a foreign national. For
full details please contact the Polish Embassy in London.

Do I need an ID card if I move to Poland?
A. Yes. This is in the form of your residence
visa.
Q.
Do I need a Polish bank account?
A. No. It is not essential to have a bank account,
however it is always recommended to open one if you buy a property
in Poland.

What is the Polish health care like?
A. Polish health care is on the whole very good.
Non nationals will have to pay for treatment.

Can my children go to school in Poland?
A. Yes. The state education system is excellent,
and free of charge. The children are taught in Polish here, which
will help them pick it up very quickly. All qualifications achieved
are internationally recognised. If you prefer, there are also
fee paying “International” schools in the more densely
populated cities, where your children can learn in English.

What about my pets?
A. All animals with the relevant paperwork, inoculations
and microchips, will be allowed into the country. It is advisable
to get a pet passport. If you have do not have one, your pet will
have to go into quarantine if you return to the UK with it.

Do I need a Polish will?
A. If you want to pass your property in Poland down to
your family, then you must have a Polish will.
Q.
How much do I allow for fees when purchasing a property in Poland?
A. Allow for approximately 10% of the purchase amount.
The fees are made up Property taxes and any other fees such as
notary or solicitor fees etc.
